David joined Edwards, Ellis & Associates, PC in 2023, merging the firm that he owned and managed for 35 years. His practice includes personal, business, trust, and estate taxation, business consulting and start-ups, financial advisory services, and attestation services (audits, reviews, and compilations) that include ERISA audits and compliance. He began his career in accounting as an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. upon graduation from San Diego State University. His earlier career path included working for two private companies in executive management, gaining invaluable insights that have helped him step into his clients’ shoes during his later public accounting years.

He is a U.S. Marine veteran, having served as an enlisted man, as a warrant officer, and as a commissioned officer, and in various roles such as infantryman, nuclear arsenal security, drill instructor, artillery fire direction control chief, artillery forward observer, tank liaison officer, and Headquarters Company executive officer.

David’s passions are his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, and, when time allows, running.
